The driver delivery specialist operates a tractor trailer tank truck to deliver hazardous materials and products in a safe and timely manner to regions including Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah, Idaho and the western United States for a chemical company.

Driver delivery specialists complete a 4 – 6 week training program of classroom, computer based training and on-the-job training.

Responsibilities include conducting pre/post trip inspections, completing accurate information for the onboard computer system, adhering to all Safety requirements including wearing all PPE during loading and unloading, loading tankers to full capacity and ensuring safe and timely deliveries, maintaining the highest level of customer service, adhering to all maintenance and housekeeping compliances to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of equipment, ensuring effective internal and external communications using voice and on-board computer and communication equipment to dispatch office, customer service office and to customers, complying with all governmental regulations and completing all required documentation in electronic or paper-and-pencil formats.

Qualifications include:

High school diploma or GED preferred; or 15+ years’ commercial driving (Tractor Trailer) experience in all weather conditions and environments (i.e. ice, snow, mountain areas, steep grades, etc...) and proven safe work record.

Commercial driver’s license required; hazardous materials and tanker endorsements required.

Two years over-the-road experience required.

A minimum of one year or more of tanker or equivalent experience preferred.

Must be able to climb trailer and cab ladders; lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds; and wear a chemical suit in a hot environment.

No DUI/DWI within the previous ten years and no more than one in a lifetime. Must pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check, if job offer is received and accepted. Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card).
