I am student right now but I want to be on the road for a year. i will be leaving my home, putting things in storage even my car and hitting the road. Mt children are grown and my grandchildren are still young. Has any female trucker did this that you know of?

I dont know if you have gotten advice... I think you r doing a good thing.... But my advice to you is to do it for about 2 yrs then get out.... Greetings and good for you. It sounds like you have a plan well thought out and I say, go, learn, travel, see, and enjoy each sunrise and each sunset. It sounds like you are at a place in your life where you can pursue a dream and think about what you want. I had the same dream almost thirty-two years ago and I have absolutely, no regrets. I am so excited for you ladymidnite! It is an exciting time in your life! And I did not have kids, but I did exactly as your doing. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, because you don't need to be worrying about whether you pipes are frozen in Montana, while your sweating your arse off in Florida! LOL.... By keeping your life simple, you keep your stress levels low. Keep that in mind when making decisions. For example, in decisions of mail. Do you have someone reliable that will sign for things? Will you actually get all of your mail? I did not, so at first I got a PO Box at Post Office that had a truck parking spot out front. Then I found the UPS Store!! Awesome!! Because all you have to do is say, hey! I am going to be in SLC on such and such date, please mail my mail to this motel. It is the little things that begin to pile up that cause the most stress. By managing that pile, you help manage your stress. If you have any questions, don't hesitate!!! We are here to help ya girly!
