Most states require that over the top securement is necessary, but few dry vans
are set up for it. When I haul pallatized steel coil, If I have a trailer that
has E channels for logistic straps, after nailing down 2x4's along the sides and
in front of the pallets, I put as many logistic straps as possible in front of
the back set of coils...most times they are loaded in two sets, so many pallets
in front and so many in the back part of the trailer. If the trailer does not
have logistic strap channels, I try to beg enough old pallets to go in between
the two sets high enough to hit the coils and use load locks to hold them in
place to stop the forward motion of the coils if I have to hit the brakes.

> behind you that you are slowing down? I always turn on my flashers. GP's answer , I usually tap my brake pedal before applying the brakes this gives them a flash of brake light , plus i will pop on my flashers .
9. What is an easy way to determine tread depth on a tire? A penny...the
tread should be touching lincoln's head . GP says : I learned something interesting yesterday and I am not sure if all the DOT guys do it , but we have a DOT fella that measures from the top of the wear bar , if it is less than 4/32 on the steers from the top of the wear bar he will put a truck OOS .
