Hi Marge Bailey,
I got my CDL back in 2007, I went to work at a bus company, just to get some sort of experience under my belt, I have a young child, and cannot go over the road, as I'm seperated from my husband and am solely responsible for his well being. I am not young, I'm 46, when I got my regular license and CDL I had been 23 years without any accidents. in 2008 fate finally caught up with me, and as everything happens in 3's, I had 3 minor accidents within a 2 month period, have been accident free ever since. This has been keeping me from getting a driving job anywhere, including Pepsi, I was all set to work there, when they called and told me that their insurance co. refused to allow me to work for them, I have to wait till Oct. of 2011, then I can apply again, and my 3 years will be up. I've worked at some minor driving jobs since, but haven't been honest about my driving record. I have no points at all, the accidents consist of rubbing paint from my school bus onto a car fender when I had to move over to allow an Electric Co. truck go by on a curved road. Another was hitting someone who passed me on the left and got in front of my full sized bus stopped and made a left without giving me any room to come to a full stop before doing so. Luckily it happened in front of police, and my ticket was taken down to blocking traffic. My other accident was in my car, when I hit black ice while trying to park my car, the tires slid, and I tapped the car next to me, the driver was in it, no injury, just a dented passenger side fender. Meanwhile, my income has been non-existant at best, I have over 29 years of work under my belt, and have been collecting unemployment, which is about exhausted. I'm working on starting a Daycare in my home at present. I want to drive, is there any hope for me getting a driving job, prior to Oct. 2011?

Unfortunately Jody at least one of those accidents will need to fall off and 3 years is the usual requirement. I wish I had better news for you. By that time you will need to take the course for driving a big rig again. If you need to speak with me please feel free to call anytime between noon and 6pm M-F.

Hi Diane,

There are some companies you have not contacted that hire recent grads of CDL school. The state you're in is difficult but consider these companies. BTW this is in no an endorsement for these companies. As 'newbies' there are not many choices however.
