This is from the author....
Hi I am Rebby Barnard and I wrote the book "Confessions of a Female Truck Driver". I recently joined the Women In Trucking group. I want to do my part to improve conditions for truck drivers - and women truck drivers. I started driving a truck initially in 1994. It was fun and memorable. As difficult and challenging as it was - I enjoyed it immensely. Unfortunately a bad accident on black ice ended my career early. I talk about that in my book. Years later starting in 2002 I started telling my friends and family about my truck driving adventures. It started as emails and the emails became chapters which became my book. I continued to write it for seven years finally finishing it in 2009! Some of these adventures were vindictive things that I did (like chapters 1 and 2 and 4) but other chapters involve things which I could only experienced by being a driver. In 2008 I became a truck driver again. It is my second chance and I am making the most of it. To be honest, my book is more about what it is like to be a truck driver - not what it is like to be a woman truck driver. My book is a foot in the door or an icebreaker. When people read it and are interested in it - I figured then I could talk more specifically about the problems and challenges being a female truck driver. My book is humorous of course - but I talk about a number of serious things too. I feel it would be of interest to truck drivers and four-wheelers alike. I may from time to time post segments of my book on the site. Thank you.

I am going to have to check your book out. Did you ever think you would become an author? I did not think I would in my wildest dreams, but if you drive a truck long enough there's always a good story.
