Hello,

I'm a new driver and I'm seriously looking at a job driving from Edmonton to Yellowknife in Canada. The doomsayers in my life are all telling me that this road is very bad to drive, etc. Is there anyone out there that has driven this road and can tell me a little bit about it? Road condition, typical weather conditions in winter months, good truck stops to overnight at, major things to be aware of.

Thank-you

I thought I might want to try that area also, but after watching Ice Road Truckers I had a second thought. Just in the USA this year I've done enough iceskating to last a life time. Life is too short to go adventure seeking. I know somebody has to do it and I wish you much success if you do decide to give it a try.

wow , i saw that one too jellybeans . My hat is off to those who go that route . I can honestly say i would rather go skydiving than be an ice road trucker .(and my motto is "why jump from a perfectly good plane ?")

just a bucket truck driver
