Recipes and cooking » WIT Cookbook & More - your recipes needed Jun 13, 2010 11:36 AM (Total replies: 3)

When we began this Recipes & Cooking forum, we mentioned it might be fun to do a WIT cookbook. Now the time is right to do it, so we will start compiling the book July 1st. The working title is Women In Trucking Association Cookbook & More. We will use the recipes you have contributed here with others if needed, along with interesting information about health, truck cleaning tips, and inspirational quotes throughout the book.

We would like to use your forum name and perhaps a short bio for the recipes you have posted. Please let us know if that is ok with you and provide a short bio; nothing too personal, just the state/province you live in, how long you have been driving, hobbies, etc. Please post any recipes you would like to have included in the cookbook, cleaning tips also.

100% of the profits from this book will go to Women In Trucking!

Fiction

Many carriers believe once CSA 2010 is rolled out they will be able to see the BASIC scores of their current drivers and they'll be able to order a report showing the BASIC scores of potential drivers.

Fact

Neither drivers nor employing motor carriers will have access to the drivers BASIC scores. At present, only enforcement personnel will have access. Generally, it will be used to identify and focus on drivers of carriers that are undergoing an investigation.

However, drivers and carriers will have access to driver data through the Driver Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP). The PSP provides a list of crash and inspection activity associated with the driver over the previous 3 years of inspections and 5 years of crashes.

PSP only provides a list, it does not compare or assess driver inspection/crash performance.

This fact is substantiated by FAQ #27 of the CSA 2010 website.

If you have a CSA 2010 question or concern please feel free to e-mail them to kelly@impacttrans.com or call Kelly at 417-451-0853

General Discussion » Documentary Series about Female Truck Drivers Mar 10, 2010 05:43 PM (Total replies: 8)

Attention Members of Women In Trucking:

Our association has been contacted by a company that wants to produce a documentary series about female truck drivers. If you are interested or want more information, please contact Jaime; her email and contact information are below.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Essentially, we’re looking for 5 – 10 fabulous, fierce, fun professional female truckers who are based in the USA and are comfortable being on camera. At the heart of it, our series is “Ice Road Truckers” but with women and without ice! It’s less about the dangerous of driving, more about the drama of being a woman behind the wheel… their work, life & the balance of the two.

Anyone you find who’s interested in participating can contact me directly via email (jpaxton@asylument.com) with a brief description of themselves and a photo. (A photo of them & their rig or in the driver’s seat would be incredible but definitely not necessary!) We’d love to know where they’re located, what type of load they drive, what their relationship status is, and if they have a family or are 'flying' solo.

Here’s a little more about the show:

Today, there are thousands of women behind the wheel professionally, and according to the American Trucking Association, that number is growing by the day. In these tough economic times, women are taking control and hitting the road.

Some ride with their husbands or partners in teams, but more and more are driving solo, all while balancing their families, children, friends, lives, and loves from the road.

It’s not all eighteen wheels and a dozen roses behind the wheel of a big rig. There’s loading and unloading heavy cargo, days upon days of living out of a truck cab, flat tires, safety risks and of course, a big obstacle on the road… men. These women are constantly fighting for the respect, the independence, and the jobs that they deserve.

This enthralling docu-series will follow the lives of five to ten fabulous, fierce female truckers as they drive their trucks, their lives, their loves, their obstacles and their families – all while doing whatever it takes to stay in control.

Please feel free to check out our company website (http://http://www.asylument.com/]http://www.asylument.com/) for more about Asylum & the many shows we’ve produced.

All my best,
Jaime

Subject: Dear Child of God.
Message:
Dear Child of God.
Calvary greetings in the name of our lord and personal saviour amen.
My name is Mrs Felica ***** ,from Cote D' Ivoire .I am married to late Mr. Ezekiel *****, who was a director of Sports under the government of the former head of state ( MR. HENRI KONAN BEDIE) of our country Cote D' Ivoire for Six years.
Before the death of my husband in the year 2008,after a brief illness that lasted for only five days.
We were married for many years with a son ( Jean-mark ) who later died in a motor accident. Before the untimely death of my husband,we were both born again Christians. Since after his death I decided not to remarry due to my often ill health . When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of Two Million, three hundred Thousand United States Dollars (US$2.3m) in a General Trust Account with a prime bank in Europe . Presently, this money is still there with the bank in Europe.
Recently,Following my ill health, my Doctor told me that I may not last long due to my cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness.Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to someone that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein, according to the desire of my late husband before his death.
I want this fund to be used in Christain Activities like,Orphanages, Christain schools, and Churches for propagating the word of God and to endeavor that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that "Blessed is the hand that giveth". I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision.
I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that "the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace". I don't need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband's relatives around me always.I don't want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible.
As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the bank in Europe. I will also issue you the documents that will prove you the present beneficiary of this fund. I want you and the Church to always pray for me because the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that Wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and
Truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life.
Contact me on this email address ( f*****@yahoo.com ) as any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another person for this same purpose.
Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein. Hoping to receive your reply.
Remain blessed in the Lord.
Yours in Christ,
Mrs Felica *****.
