There are several key features that make a company appealing to women as an employer – ranging from a positive corporate culture that fosters gender diversity and encourages life/career balance to career advancement opportunities. Redefining the Road magazine, Women In Trucking Association’s official magazine, recently announced the recipients of the 2020 “Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation.” This is the third year that the magazine has recognized companies that have their game on in this area. During this discussion, you’ll hear from leaders of some of these companies about their strategies and approaches to attract, retain, and motivate a workforce that is rich in gender diversity.

During this panel discussion of top talent strategy executives with leading companies in transportation and logistics, you will explore:

  • The business case of why is a diversified workforce (particularly around gender diversification) is so important to companies in this industry
  • The most important factors women seek in an employer
  • How to identify the biggest barriers to creating a more gender diverse workforce – and solutions to break down those barriers
  • Strategies your organization can put in place to help ensure healthy gender diversity (i.e, recruiting, retention, and gaining the most for your female talent)

Diana Anderson currently leads the Talent Management operations for Ryder System, Inc., a FORTUNE 500® commercial fleet management, dedicated transportation, and supply chain solutions company. She is responsible for leading succession planning, performance management and leadership development practices.   Diana also provides human resources business support to the executive team.  Prior to this position, Diana worked with AutoNation for 10 years within the Human Resources function.  Diana holds a Bachelor in Business Management from Southern Illinois University and currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Angela-Fish

Angela Fish has served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources since 2019. In this position, she ensures the ongoing development and implementation of Schneider’s human capital strategies and processes and is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources functions, to include HR business partners and centers of excellence in compensation, benefits, human resource information systems (HRIS), leave administration and employment law compliance.  She has been with Schneider since 1996 and has served as the Chair of Schneider’s Investment Committee since 2010. Prior to joining Schneider, she worked at the University of Michigan and is a graduate of Northern Michigan University.  She has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the local YMCA since 2018.

Hope Rush is the director of talent strategy, corporate HR Center of Expertise, for Volvo Group North America headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. In this role, Rush provides leadership on key strategic global and domestic HR initiatives, including program and policy development, human capital planning and global organizational redesign. She is responsible for strategic recruitment, university relations, diversity and inclusion, performance and competence management, culture development, immigration and leadership development. Prior to her current role, she was director of HR for Volvo IT, and the Human Resource Business Partner and Culture Navigator for Volvo IT. Rush has been with the Volvo Group since 2008. Rush worked for iQor Inc., based in Charlotte and Greensboro, as the vice president of HR from 2006-2007 and vice president of operations from 2004-2006. Prior to iQor, Rush worked as the senior operations manager for NCO Group, Inc. in Greensboro.
Rush has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. She has certifications in Global Professional Human Resources (GPHR); Certified Professional/Executive Coach; ELI – Master Practitioner; Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR); Myers Briggs Type Indicator Certified Practitioner; Culture Transformation Tools Certified Practitioner (Part I and II); Civil Treatment for Managers and Civil Treatment for Employees Certified Practitioner; and Achieve Global Leadership Development Training Certification.
