Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

For your benefit, the Women In Trucking Association provides these FAQs and important steps to help you prepare for the upcoming 2020 Accelerate! Conference & Expo, hosted by the Women In Trucking Association. This conference takes place Sept. 23-25 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel (which is a beautiful downtown venue). Where should I book a hotel room? All conference activities take place at the Sheraton Dallas, located at 400 North Olive St. downtown Dallas, Texas. WIT has negotiated a special room rate of U.S. $199 (Executive Suite or Traditional King) - our room block sells out every year, so make your reservations ASAP! All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card. What is the appropriate dress code? The dress code is business casual attire for all conference activities. Speakers and exhibitors are encouraged to wear business attire as appropriate. However, you are encouraged to wear your Texan Fair attire for the State Fair Bash Networking Reception Monday Evening!

Speed Mentoring (Monday, 11-12p) - Registration required. Hear the career stories from seasoned professionals in the industry – or if you’re interested, share your own stories! This is an excellent opportunity to quickly make new connections in a fun “speed dating” format before the conference begins. 

Be Prepared for “Accelerated Speed Networking” – Bring Ample Business Cards
Expand your professional network and connections with others in the Women In Trucking community through this fun, fast round-robin networking format. Make sure to bring at least 50 business cards as you make these connections. 

Do I need to register on-site? Yes. For your convenience, on-site registration is regularly open and the Registration Desk will be staffed throughout the event to assist with questions during these times: Wednesday (8am - 5pm); Thursday (7:30am - 4:30pm); and Friday (8am - 2:45pm).

What networking opportunities take place at the conference? Whether it’s the "Got Game" Wednesday Evening Reception or the “Top Companies” Recognition Program and “I Heart Trucking” Reception on Thursday evening, there’s plenty of opportunities to connect with others in a fun, social environment.
