WIT doesn't just exist for its members. It exists because of them.
Every program, resource, and initiative that has grown out WIT traces back to what members have shared, requested, and built together. When members speak up, things change, and the more voices that show up in that process, the stronger this organization becomes.
If you've ever wondered whether your feedback goes anywhere, or whether participating in discussions actually matters, the answer is yes.
When WIT sends a survey, we’re asking a genuine question: what do you need, and how can we help? The responses members provide shape decisions about programming, resources, events, and priorities – and they inform the research WIT conducts and shares with the broader industry.
Your specific perspective, whether you're a driver, a dispatcher, an executive, or somewhere in between, is part of what makes the data meaningful.
Member-driven change doesn't only happen through formal surveys. The Engage forum is where members are actively discussing industry challenges, asking questions, sharing wins, and raising ideas that WIT pays attention to.
Forum threads have surfaced needs that became programs. Questions posted by one member have answered something dozens of others were wondering. Feedback shared in has helped WIT understand where to focus resources. When you participate in those conversations, you're contributing to something larger than the thread itself.

Some of WIT's strongest offerings didn't come from a boardroom - they came from members identifying gaps and saying so. The networking groups we added in 2025 reflect member interest. The mentorship program has evolved because members needs continue to change. The WIT on the Road regional events exist because members told us they wanted connection closer to home. More webinars were added in 2026 because members wanted more online content.
This is what member-driven looks like in practice: not a suggestion box, but an ongoing dialogue that actually shapes what WIT does and who it serves.
If something is working well for you, say so. If something is missing, say that too. WIT listens through email, Engage, event conversations, and the participation patterns that show what members are actually using and valuing.
You don't have to be in a formal leadership role to influence this organization. You just have to show up and share what you know.
