Recognizing Accomplishments

Female drivers and business professionals are doing amazing things to be part of the economic engine that moves freight over the road. Part of the Women In Trucking Association's mission is to promote their accomplishments through these recognition programs:

  • The annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel program honors and recognizes female commercial drivers for their efforts and successes as women in a male-dominated industry. Each year, the Women In Trucking Association holds events at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Kentucky to recognize women drivers in the United States; and at the Owner-Operator's Business Association of Canada (OBAC) to recognize women drivers in Canada.
  • The annual "Influential Woman In Trucking" Award provides annual recognition to a woman who provides leadership, creates change, and inspires others in the transportation industry.
  • The annual Distinguished Woman In Logistics Award was established to promote the achievements of women employed in the North American transportation industry. It highlights the vital roles of women in the dynamic and influential field of commercial transportation and logistics.

  • The annual Top Women to Watch in Transportation awards list recognizes women who are making great strides in their careers while positively impacting their companies and helping to promote greater gender diversity within their organizations and the industry at large. Sponsored by Redefining the Road magazine, the official magazine of the Women In Trucking Association, this program is in part to recognize and spotlight individuals who are making a positive impact on gender diversity.

  • The annual Top Woman-Owned Businesses in Transportation awards list recognizes woman-owned companies based upon financial stability and growth, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of the woman owner(s). Sponsored by Redefining the Road magazine, the official magazine of the Women In Trucking Association, this program is in part to encourage more women to proactively become leaders/owners of their own organizations and to recognize accomplishments of these woman-led enterprises.

  • The annual Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation awards list recognizes employers with corporate cultures that are supportive of gender diversity by providing flexible hours and work requirements to accommodate family and life balance, competitive compensation and benefits, training and continued professional development, and career advancement opportunities. Sponsored by Redefining the Road magazine, the official magazine of the Women In Trucking Association, this program is in part to recognize and spotlight enterprises that are encouraging gender diversity within their own organizations and in the industry at large.
