Driving the next generation to consider trucking as their rewarding career path!

The Women In Trucking team was recently in Detroit, MI for an event hosted by the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan. The group has been learning about different career paths, including those in trades, and this event was all about trucking.

Key highlights of the day included hearing from WIT Driver Ambassador KayLeigh McCall on her experiences as a professional driver, touring WITney, our educational trailer, and learning from the interactive kiosks and Driving Simulator, and checking out the inside of KayLeigh's cab.

The objective of the program is to educate young girls about the exciting career opportunities in the trucking industry as well as safety around big trucks. The “Trucks are for Girls” events have taken place all over the U.S. and Canada. The very first event took place in October, 2014. Since then, over 1,500 girls have earned their WIT patch!
