It started with a single question posted to Engage: “Do you have an interest in wellness, both in and out of the truck?”
The replies came. A professional OTR truck driver who wanted ideas for strength conditioning without equipment. A heart bypass survivor who said she'd been given a new lease on life and wanted to make the most of it. A safety director who described healthy mindset and wellness as a big factor in her own life over recent years. A driver who wrote simply: "A healthier lifestyle is so important to me as being a driver — learning in progress."
By late 2025, Tanya announced that WIT leadership had created a dedicated private community on Engage — a space built with one clear purpose: to empower, connect, and support women in the trucking industry through a focus on wellness and well-being.
That community energy is now moving off the forum and onto a live stage through a webinar led by Tanya Jolliffe and a panel of advocates who understand what wellness actually looks like behind the wheel.
Joining Tanya is Maggie Wolarik of Operation Broga, Alyx Henry from Project 61, and Diane Hutsell from the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund. These are organizations doing hands-on work to support truck driver health. The conversation will cover practical wellness strategies designed for life on the road, the resources these organizations offer to professional drivers, and how to get more involved with the WIT Health and Wellness Networking Group.
If you've been thinking about how to make wellness more realistic within the rhythms of trucking life, this is the conversation to be in. Register here.
There's also a way to get moving right now, no waiting required. Project 61 is running a Summer Bash challenge from July 1 through August 31, and WIT has its own team in the app.
The challenge is designed to meet drivers where they are: workouts and habits in the app include simple daily activities like walking, stretching, drinking water, and getting better sleep. Earn one point for each completed workout or habit, and reach 30 points for a chance to win prizes. To join the WIT team, download the Project 61 app at project-61.org/download and use invitation code WIT.
It's the kind of low-barrier, high-consistency approach that the wellness thread on Engage kept circling back to: not perfection, but one small action at a time.
The Wellness Networking Group is still welcoming new members, and the thread that started it all is still open. Whether you're an OTR truck driver looking for ways to stay healthy on the road, a fleet professional trying to support your drivers, or someone with expertise to share, there's a place for you in this community.
Join the conversation on Engage and connect with the Wellness Networking Group.
