One of the most powerful aspects of Engage, WIT’s online community, is the way members use their experiences and expertise to support one another. Recently, Devon Darden posted about financial well-being—sharing both practical budgeting advice and the personal journey that drives his passion for this work.
Devon’s path to financial services is shaped by both personal and professional experiences. After leaving the Marine Corps, he spent time driving trucks and witnessed firsthand the disparities women faced in the industry. That experience left a lasting impression, inspiring him to be part of WIT’s mission to close the gap of inequality—not just in trucking, but in financial security across industries.
On a personal level, when Devon’s father passed away, his mother was left without the financial protection she needed to care for her family. Watching her struggle during such a difficult time fueled his commitment to helping others protect their families, businesses, and futures. Today, as a financial professional with Capitol Wealth Strategies, Devon focuses on empowering people to manage risks, build confidence in their financial decisions, and plan for the retirement they deserve.
In one of his Engage posts, Devon shared simple yet effective strategies to make budgeting more manageable:
Devon’s goal isn’t just to share advice—it’s to be a resource for the WIT community. He’s actively inviting members to share their biggest financial concerns so he can tailor weekly insights to the issues that matter most.
