WIT Connections: Building a Strong Community Through Mentoring, Networking
by Alyssa Kirkman, on Aug 18, 2025 8:00:00 AM
At Women In Trucking (WIT), we believe that strong connections build strong careers—and an even stronger community. That’s the vision behind the new WIT Connections, a platform designed to foster meaningful relationships among members—whether you’re just starting out in your career or have decades of experience under your belt.
WIT Connections gives you four powerful ways to get involved and grow:
- Networking Groups
- One-on-One Connections
- Connections: Unplugged
- Connections Mixers
Together, these opportunities can help our members learn from one another, find support, build a lasting network, and advance in their careers.
Networking Groups: Find Your Community
Networking Groups are member-driven communities built around common interests, regional ties, or industry topics. These groups provide a welcoming space to explore ideas, solve challenges, and support one another.
Each group is guided by a volunteer facilitator who helps coordinate meetings, initiate discussions, and create a space where all voices are valued. Groups meet regularly—some monthly, others quarterly—and are open to all members.
Here’s a look at some of the Networking Groups you can join today:
- Career & Professional Development Group. Led by Jennifer Overmyer, Vice President, Mobile Drivers, Compliance, and Payroll with Centerline (A TrueBlue Company), this group supports members in navigating their careers, negotiating promotions, building confidence, and growing in male-dominated spaces.
- Connecting with Peers Group. Facilitated by Jennifer Anderson, MBA, AIC and Founder/CEO of Claims Shield, this is an open monthly Zoom session for any member looking to share experiences and build new relationships across the trucking industry.
- Midwest Group. Join Kris Cornellier, Business Development Manager with Anderson Trucking Services (ATS), to connect with fellow WIT members across the Midwest. This virtual group is exploring opportunities for in-person gatherings as well.
- Wellness Group. Tanya Jolliffe, Founder and Provider of L I T Wellness Solutions, leads this group focused on wellness both in and out of the truck. Topics range from physical health and nutrition to mental well-being and stress management.
- Leadership in the Carolinas Group. WIT Image Team member Jerri Baez, Fleet Safety Manager for Colony Hardware, brings women together to explore leadership potential through hands-on activities and real-world growth. No title needed—just a desire to step into your strengths.
More groups are forming all the time! If you have an idea for a new networking group or are interested in becoming a facilitator, contact Jenny Fall.
One-on-One Connections: Personalized Support, Real Impact
One-on-One Connections allows members to make individual connects that are personalized, flexible, and impactful. Whether you’re looking for advice, want to share your own experience, or just need someone who understands your unique path in the trucking industry, this program can help you meet the right person to learn from.
Powered by a secure and easy-to-use platform, WIT’s One-on-One Connections match members based on professional goals, experience level, and areas of interest. It’s not about formal mentorship—it’s about real conversations, shared experiences, and practical guidance.
You can sign up as someone who’s seeking insight or someone who’s ready to offer it—or both. Connections happen on your schedule, and you can participate from anywhere. Get started today.
Connections: Unplugged
Connections: Unplugged is an opportunity to meet-up with members for casual, open conversations. Visit the Connections: Unplugged Community to join or email membership@womenintrucking.org. Once you’ve joined, you can find other members in your area or plan meet-ups while you’re traveling or on the road. This is your opportunity to find in-person authentic conversations with fellow women in the industry. Whether you’re looking for support or new ideas, Connections: Unplugged can help you connect.
Connections Mixers
Not sure how to get started? Our quarterly webinars are your opportunity to learn more about mentorship and networking. This is your chance to make connections, participate in a live discussion, and hear from members who have used WIT Connections. Register for the next mixer.
