Salute to Women Behind the Wheel

The annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel program honors and recognizes female commercial drivers for their efforts and successes as women in a male-populated industry.


Recognizing Your Accomplishments

Female drivers and business professionals are doing amazing things to be part of the economic engine that moves freight over the road. Part of the Women In Trucking Association's mission is to promote their accomplishments.

Each year, the Women In Trucking Association holds events at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Kentucky to recognize women drivers in the United States; and in partnership with the Owner-Operator's Business Association of Canada (OBAC) at Truck World in Toronto to recognize women drivers in Canada.

Join us at the 15th Annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel, a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and successes of female professional drivers. This must-attend event is FREE for all female CDL holders, their families, friends, and industry supporters. It’s more than a celebration—it’s a moment to recognize the female trailblazers who keep our industry moving forward.

Event Highlights:

  • Celebrate Outstanding Achievements: Witness the announcement of the prestigious 2026 Women In Trucking Driver of the Year Award, sponsored by Walmart.
  • Be Part of the Annual Group Photo: Female drivers will receive complimentary red t-shirts and gather for the iconic snapshot commemorating their vital role in transportation.
  • Connect and Celebrate Together: Enjoy a lively atmosphere honoring women’s contributions to the trucking industry, while making connections with peers, friends, and industry champions.
