Women In Trucking Mentoring

WIT Connections is your place to share experiences, grow meaningful relationships, and build your network. WIT members can participate in one-on-one mentorship, develop connections in networking groups, participate in virtual meetings, or make connections in person. Whatever your goals, WIT Connections has opportunities to help you succeed.

Networking Groups are member driven, with a facilitator to guide discussions, develop topics of interest, schedule meetings, and manage the flow of conversations. Members share open discussions with industry peers to explore ideas, solve problems and advance their careers and the profession. Groups are based on interests, location, or industry topic. One-On-One Connections provide a more personal experience. Members can connect for personalized guidance, support, and professional growth through regular, meaningful conversations. Get started today.

Connections: Unplugged is an online community for members to connect for spontaneous in-person meetups. Visit the Connections: Unplugged Community to join or email membership@womenintrucking.org.

It's powerful when women in our association come together to share their stories. Join us for a quarterly virtual Connections Mixer if you're looking to make connections, be part of impactful conversations, and invest in your professional development.

Trisha Mossor, Business Development Manager from AIM Transportation Solutions, and Gina Jones, Professional Truck Driver from Werner Enterprises, will lead a discussion on Stepping outside our comfort zones towards career growth. What is WIT Connections?

WIT Connections is your opportunity to learn from other women in the trucking industry – on your terms. Members can find connections, build relationships and share experiences with other members. The program includes Networking Groups, One-On-One Connections, Connections: Unplugged, and Webinar Mixers.

Who can participate?

WIT Connections is open to all WIT members. Not a member? Membership starts at $30 for drivers and $60 for other professionals. Click here to learn more.

What are the participation rules?

To participate in WIT Connections, all mentors, mentees, facilitators and group members must be current WIT Members.

All participants must abide by the WIT Connections Guidelines and Community Rules & Etiquette and Privacy Guidelines.

Can I make more than one connection?

You can join as a mentor, mentee, facilitator, group member – or all of the above! You are welcome to be involved in as many connections as you have time for, or to make connections as soon as another one ends. Get started!

How do I sign-up for a Networking Group?

Networking groups are listed on WIT Connections. Click connect under the group you are interested in to contact the group facilitator for information on monthly meetings and engagement opportunities. You can also watch your Engage feed for posts about new groups - just reply to the posts to get connected. Facilitators decide how big they want their groups to be. If a group is full and you are still interested in joining a group, email Jenny Fall.

How do I sign-up for a One-On-One Connection?

You must enroll as a Mentor/Facilitator or enroll as a Mentee/Group member. Complete your demographics and preferences on topics, specialties, career stage and availability. You can also decide if you want to meet in person or virtually, how long you would like a relationship to last and if you’d like to be in a mentor relationship or a group. You will then search the mentor/mentee directories for potential matches and request a connection. Once a connection is made, the relationship, structure, and goals are entirely up to you!

How do I find someone to meet in my area?

Connections: Unplugged is an online community where members can connect for spontaneous in-person meetups. Visit the Connections: Unplugged Community to send a request to join or email membership@womenintrucking.org.

How long are the relationships?

The length is up to the participants. We recommend that One-One-One Connections last at least 6-months and Networking Groups last at least 4 months, but duration and frequency of communications is entirely up to you.

What's the difference between a mentor and facilitator?

Mentors build one-on-one relationships with members who are looking for career guidance and growth opportunities. Mentors can be at any stage of their careers as long as they are willing to share their experience and offer advice. Facilitators lead group discussions to help foster connections and networking within the WIT community.

What is Engage ?

Engage is WIT's member-only online discuss forum. Members can share ideas, experiences, advice, best practices, challenges, questions, and more.

You can also access Engage through the WIT App.

Note: You'll need to log in with your member credentials.

How big are the networking groups?

Each facilitator can decide how big they would like their networking group to be.

How do I start a networking group?

Contact Jenny Fall if you have an idea for a networking group or are interested in facilitating. The WIT team will reach out to discuss your desired group size, potential topic, frequency of meetings, and length of the group. You can then post on the Engage platform announcing your group, or the WIT team can help you search the directory for participants.

Group facilitators must commit to at least three (3) regular meetings, monthly, bi-weekly or quarterly. All facilitators must follow the WIT Connections Guidelines and Community Rules & Etiquette and Privacy Guidelines.
