The trucking industry spans millions of miles, thousands of companies, and countless roles. From drivers navigating long hauls to executives shaping company culture, what brings all of these people together? Community.
At the Women In Trucking Association (WIT), “community” isn't just a word we use. It's the foundation of everything we do. Whether you've been a member since its founding in 2007 or have just joined this year, part of WIT’s mission is to connect you with the people, programs, and opportunities that make this industry stronger and your career more fulfilling.
Here's how you can build your community through WIT.
WIT’s annual conference has become known as to provide one of the most unique, dynamic experiences in the trucking industry. Now in its 12th year, this conference brings together more than 1,000 professionals who are interested in championing the employment and advancement of women in the industry.
With more than 60 educational sessions and workshops, facilitated networking sessions and interactive roundtable discussions, Accelerate! has ample opportunities to expand industry relationships.
Not every connection happens at a major conference like Accelerate!, and that's exactly why WIT on the Road exists. These regional events bring the WIT experience directly to members across the country, offering focused learning, meaningful networking, and the kind of conversations that can only happen face to face.
Our next stop is in Birmingham, Alabama on April 29, 2026. If you're in the region, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow members, hear industry voices, and walk away with real takeaways without the travel demands of a national event.
This year, WIT is expanding its member-led Networking Groups, and we've added four new ones to the mix. These smaller, focused communities give members a space to connect around shared interests, roles, and goals.
Whether you're looking to grow your leadership skills, find peers who understand your day-to-day, or simply show up in a space where you belong, there's a group for you. And if you've been waiting for the right time to plug in, this is it. New groups mean new energy and plenty of room to help shape the conversation from the start.

One of the most powerful things a community can offer is someone who's “been there, done that.” WIT's mentorship program connects members across experience levels, pairing those navigating new roles or challenges with others who can offer honest guidance and hard-won perspective.
Right now, we need mentors.
If you've built a career in this industry, whether you're a professional truck driver, a safety leader, an HR/talent management leader, or an executive, someone out there would benefit from what you know and have experienced. Mentorship doesn't require a perfect career or all the answers. It just requires showing up and being willing to share.
Becoming a mentor is one of the most impactful ways to invest in this community, and more often than not, mentors tell us they get just as much out of the relationship as their mentees do.
Community is most powerful when it's personalized, and WIT has tools to help make that happen. Taking a few minutes to update your member profile, or ensuring your company's membership reflects the right information, helps WIT connect you with the resources, events, and opportunities most relevant to you.
Think of it as telling us a little more about yourself so we can do a better job showing up for you. Log in and update your profile today. It's a small step that makes a real difference in your WIT experience.
Community grows when members invest in it. If you're looking for a meaningful way to deepen your involvement, WIT's volunteer opportunities are a great place to start. From committees to events to networking, there are roles that fit a range of schedules, skill sets, and interests.

WIT exists because this industry is better when we grow together, across roles, regions, and experience levels. Every event, every networking group, every mentoring connection is another thread in a community that's getting stronger every year.
