The transportation industry is grappling with escalating levels of fraud, scams and theft, which have been worsened by advancements in technology and a rocky freight market. While technology advancements have created benefits and innovation, it also has created a pathway to increased fraud. Incidents of double-brokering, load scams, fuel card fraud, and countless other scams are having a negative impact on companies of all sizes – from owner-operators to the largest for-hire carriers, private fleets, and third-party logistics companies. As bad actors continue to cook up new schemes, it’s costing our industry millions of dollars.

Anne Reinke joined the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) as President & CEO in October 2020. Prior to TIA, Reinke served both as the Deputy Assistant Secretary-Congressional Affairs DAS-Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) from April 2019 to October 2020. Her time in pubic service was immediately preceded by a 16-year career in the Washington, DC office of CSX Corporation, where Reinke ultimately became the Vice President- Government Affairs, overseeing the Federal, State Government and Community Affairs Departments. Before joining CSX, she worked at the Association of American Railroads and High Speed Ground Transportation Association.
Reinke is a Washington, DC native, and graduated from the National Cathedral School. She received a B.A. from Rice University in Houston, TX and a J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, NC. She and her husband, Brett, have two sons, and reside in Alexandria, VA.

Forman also held various roles in finance, including nearly a decade leading sales and strategic partnerships for eCapital and several years with ACS Expedited Services, where she oversaw multiple software-as-a-service programs servicing thousands of trucks. Her business acumen and experience supports her ability to provide insights on the trucking ecosystem and the technological innovation that is changing how payments are made and transactions are handled among carriers, brokers, shippers and factors.

Scott Cornell, National Practice Leader Transportation and Crime & Theft Specialist, Travelers Inland Marine, has been in the insurance industry for 23 years with Travelers and is currently leading the Transportation division. Prior to his current role he conducted investigations for 25 years, specializing in cargo theft and transportation, internal theft, embezzlement, and corporate investigations. Scott helped create a fully dedicated cargo theft unit for Travelers, known as SIG (Special Investigations Group), and is a co-inventor of multiple patented processes for methods and systems providing customized risk mitigation and recovery to an insurance customer. He and the SIG team regularly partner with law enforcement and cargo task forces nationwide. He currently serves as the Vice Chairman for TAPA (Transportation Asset Protection Association) as well as the Vice Chair for the TIA Fraud Task Force. Scott has been an instructor and speaker regarding cargo theft and prevention at numerous engagements, including ATA, IASIU, Miami Dade PD Cargo, Midwest cargo Summit, Texas Cargo Summit, TIDA, TCA, TLC, TIA and the National Cargo Theft Law Enforcement Summit. Scott is also a nationally recognized cargo theft expert and has appeared in CBS MoneyWatch, Squawk Box, Vice TV, NBC, News Now, Yahoo Finance, MSNBC, CNBC, Squawk Box, and the New York Post.

Kristin Deno serves in Operational Risk at Trinity Logistics following a Cargo Claims Team Lead role. Kristin developed a passion for risk mitigation serving as a licensed insurance agent before joining Trinity. She believes that continuous education and consistent preparation are crucial to combatting issues like ID theft and strategic cargo theft which impact not the freight industry and the US economy as a whole. Kristin maintains a Cargo Claims Professional certification through the Certified Claims Professional Accreditation Council. She is involved with Transportation Intermediaries Association, serves as chairwoman on Trinity Logistics’ Safety Committee, and participates on the Sussex County Local Emergency Planning Committee. Kristin leads risk training classes at Trinity and has lobbied with TIA in Washington, D.C. to advocate against supply chain fraud.

Prior to joining Relay, Erhart spent 15 years at Pilot Flying J, where she led various business units including sales, support and business process improvement for trucking, while helping the organization with its digital transformation.
A proven leader with 20 years of experience in trucking, Erhart is a sought after speaker in the logistics, supply chain and transportation industries. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in civil engineering and earned her MBA from the University of Tennessee. She currently resides in Tennessee with her husband and two teenage daughters.
