While gender roles and career opportunities for women are constantly changing and improving, in the workplace they still can experience roadblocks to career promotion or lack credit for meaningful contributions. And while companies in transportation, logistics and supply chain seek to address these issues, too many gender-inclusion initiatives focus on how women themselves should respond, which reinforces the perception that these are just “women’s issues.” The fact is that men – oftentimes still the most influential in a company – need to be actively involved and allies for women in the workforce.

Speak out and let people know you’re an ally. Don’t be a bystander and call it out if you see people abusing power with others. But there’s so much more you can do. Attend this session to learn from panelists on:

  • The fundamental understanding of what allyship really means and its critical importance in the workplace
  • Practical advice on how men can help to break ingrained gender stereotypes, overcome unconscious biases, and create productive working relationships with their work colleagues
  • How you (as a man) can take yourself to the next level of being an effective male ally in supporting your female counterparts
  • How you (as a women) can help to encourage more male allies in your workplace and successfully collaborate with your male counterparts.
