As the first woman to hold the role of Chief Commercial Officer in Schneider history and recently named the 2023 Women In Trucking Association’s Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award, Erin Van Zeeland shares her career background and personal philosophy on how to grow a successful career in the highly male-populated industry of transportation.

Van Zeeland started her career at Schneider in 1993 as a service team leader and has held several roles across the company in areas of logistics, asset-based divisions and leadership focused on customer growth and business transformation. She helped the company surpass its first billion in revenue and leads high-performing teams. She will share approaches for navigating the challenges and steps to keep big plans on track, avoiding getting caught in moment-to-moment crises management bringing together diverse teams with complimentary skill sets and keeping people motivated and aligned on the “wildly important” as there’s never enough time for every good idea.     Erin Van Zeeland is Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Group Senior Vice President (SVP) and General Manager (GM) of Logistics at Schneider, one of the largest multimodal providers of transportation, intermodal and logistics services in the United States. She has served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Logistics since 2016 and assumed the role of Chief Commercial Officer in early 2022. She recently was named the 2023 Women In Trucking Association’s Distinguished Woman in Logistics Award, a recognition made jointly by WIT and the Transportation Intermediaries Association. Van Zeeland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management – Operations Management, and Business/Commerce from Penn State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Silver Lake College. She also has attended Harvard Business School in leadership programs.
