What makes a company desirable for women to work? Many say it comes from such primary reasons as a corporate culture that’s supportive of gender diversity, flexibility in hours and work requirements to accommodate family and life balance, competitive compensation and benefits, training and continued professional development, and career advancement opportunities.
The organizations that feature these benefits (or more) are ideal nominees for “Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation” list. This is the sixth year this program is featured in Redefining the Road, the official magazine of the Women In Trucking Association, with the goal to highlight companies in the industry that are friendly for women in BOTH professional driver and corporate capacities.

The voting portion of this nomination carries a lot of weight on whether your company is chosen as a winner. The industry vote takes place in early June, so be sure to communicate this process and share the voting link to ensure your workforce, business partners, and other key stakeholders votes. (This is a significant voting process. In fact, in 2022 more than 20,000 votes were cast!)
STEP 3:

Late October/Early November
Winning companies will be recognized at WIT's Accelerate! Conference & Expo during a special awards program (where your appointed company representative will accept your award). Your company also will be featured in the cover story of the Redefining the Road magazine (Edition 3 of 2023).
WIT will NOT fulfill requests of providing copies of the nominations after submissions. It’s highly recommended that the nominator maintain a record of the nomination. (Suggestion: Develop the nomination in a Word document using the criteria above, and then copy/paste the responses into the online form. This way you retain a complete nomination for your records).
Nominations will be accepted through Friday, May 12, 2023.
The U.S. $595 Nomination Fee covers processing of the nomination and, if accepted to the list, a beautiful customized glass plaque that identifies your company as a 2023 "Top Company for Women to Work For in Transportation," the licensing rights to use the 2023 logo in your promotion of earning this prestigious recognition, and access to WIT's Press Kit.
WIT regularly publishes the WIT Index, the official industry barometer to measure the percentage of women who are professional drivers, in corporate positions, and serve on boards of directors in our industry.
The percentage of females in your workforce is a direct reflection of the importance you place on gender diversity and creating a positive professional environment in which women thrive. These percentages involving gender diversity is a key indicator on whether or not your organization is, in fact, a company where women want to work. If you do not participate in the WIT Index, your organization will automatically be disqualified. (IMPORTANT NOTE: Participation in the WIT Index is open year-round so make sure to participate prior to submitting your nomination as a Top Company). Learn More
