Plover, WI (January 5, 2017) - The Women In Trucking (WIT) Foundation was formed in 2011 to provide financial assistance to help women advance their careers in transportation in the areas of safety, truck driving, leadership, or as a technician.

Since 2013, the organization has awarded 40 scholarships. “It is through corporate giving, such as the Ryder Foundation which donated $25,000 and J.J. Keller Foundation which gave $10,000, along with the many individuals who have contributed to the WIT Foundation since its inception that allows the organization to provide scholarships annually to those in need,” said Debora Babin Katz, Vice President, TrucBrush Corporation and WIT Foundation Chair.

The WIT Foundation is encouraging anyone attending a training facility to submit a scholarship application. Applications will be accepted through the end of January and award recipients will be notified in February.

Anyone pursuing a career in the trucking industry may apply. Membership in the Women In Trucking Association is not a prerequisite (although certainly encouraged). Women and men are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

As a nonprofit 501c3, the WIT Foundation strives to serve its community and continue to grow with the help of its donors and volunteers that make their mission possible. To make a donation or for more information about the WIT Foundation scholarship program, visit http://www.womenintruckingfoundation.org.
