Red Carpet Welcome: Highlights from Villa Rica
by Alyssa Kirkman, on Oct 20, 2026

WIT on the Road stopped in Villa Rica, GA, on October 13. The half-day event, hosted by Peach State Truck Centers at its new campus just 45 minutes outside Atlanta, brought together transportation professionals for a morning of learning, connection, and a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s brand-new facility.
“It was wonderful to bring everyone together to connect, learn, and celebrate women in trucking,” said Laura Collier, General Accounting Administrator at Peach State Truck Centers. “We’re proud to have shared our Peach State culture and grateful to everyone who helped make the day a success!”
For Kelley Martin of Daimler Truck North America and Secretary on the Women In Trucking Board of Directors, the day captured what these events are about. “WIT on the Road is such a great opportunity to connect, learn, and bring the industry together,” she said. “I love the energy, the conversations, and the chance to celebrate the incredible women helping move trucking forward.”
Highlights of the event include:
Villa Rica Facility Tour & Four Keys Scavenger Hunt
Guests explored the 140,000-square-foot campus in small groups, discovering Safety, Courtesy, Performance, and Efficiency, the Four Keys that guide Peach State’s work, throughout the building. The scavenger hunt turned the tour into an easy way to meet new people while seeing how the facility supports customers, from the service bays to the parts will-call area. Kelley said the Peach State team made the experience even more special. “Their genuine care for their customers and everything they do to keep trucks on the road and operators on the job comes through in every interaction,” she said. “Their new Villa Rica location is phenomenal. You can tell no detail was left unthought of.”
Judi Bader, Talent Development Manager, led a career workshop and interactive discussion.
Speakers, Workshop, and Panel
The program also featured a mix of personal stories, practical career conversation, and team perspectives. Wanda Brooks, Safety/Compliance Manager at R.E. Garrison Trucking, shared her story in “Trucking Is In My Blood” and spoke about what the industry means to her. “Trucking is not just a job. It is a legacy of service, strength, faith, and opportunity,” she said. “Our responsibility is not only to keep America moving today; it is to inspire the next generation to take the wheel tomorrow.” She also encouraged attendees to share their own experiences. “When we tell our stories, we make room for someone else to dream a better future.”

The day’s panel, “Service, Culture, Our Why & the Four Keys,” brought together Ann Brooks, Human Resource Manager; Shanna Kearns, VP of Corporate Accounting; Amanda Snyder-Keller of Daimler Truck North America; and Ruthe Zavala, Parts Admin, to talk about how service and culture shape the way a team shows up for customers and for each other.

The day wrapped with a group photo and a networking lunch, giving attendees more time to continue the conversations. Wanda said the welcome from Peach State made a lasting impression. “The event was phenomenal,” she said. “They surely rolled out the red carpet!”
A sincere thank you to the entire Peach State Truck Centers team for opening their new facility to our community. Thank you also to our speakers, panelists, and everyone who joined us in Villa Rica.
