Angelika Mangino is highlighted in this February 2026 Volunteer Spotlight. As part of her volunteer efforts, she serves on the Content Committee, identifies subject matter experts who contribute to Redefining the Road magazine, and stays connected with WIT members through the Engage platform.

Mangino’s involvement with WIT is grounded in both personal history and professional purpose. With lifelong exposure to the trucking industry, she developed an early understanding of the people, pressures and pride that define the work. Seeing the dedication of drivers and frontline professionals shaped her respect for the field and built a lasting interest in how support and recognition can change career paths. When her employer, Clean Harbors, established a membership with WIT, she saw firsthand how the association advances women through visibility, data, recognition programs and community.

“Volunteering with WIT isn’t just something I do. It’s an extension of who I am,” Mangino says. “I really value helping women feel supported, recognized and connected.”

As a member of the Content Committee, Mangino strengthens industry storytelling by identifying resources and introducing subject matter experts who can contribute practical insights and informed perspectives. Those contributions help ensure that WIT publications deliver value to readers across roles, from drivers to executives. She also remains active on the Engage platform, where ongoing conversations between members create opportunities to share advice, highlight challenges and exchange ideas that support professional growth.

That consistent engagement is intentional, as Mangino believes that progress is built through steady participation and shared knowledge. She views volunteer service as a way to keep important conversations moving and to make sure women’s experiences and achievements are visible across the industry.

As the Culture and Engagement Manager at Clean Harbors, Mangino leads programs and initiatives designed to strengthen employee experience across a workforce of more than 25,000 people. She oversees seven Employee Resource Groups and supports their leaders with structure, strategy and visibility so they can deliver programming that reflects employee needs and company goals. These groups create space for connection, representation and professional development across a wide range of identities and experiences.

Mangino also develops and manages recognition programs that highlight employee contributions and reinforce organizational values. These programs help employees feel seen and connected to the company. In addition, she works to maximize the value of sponsorships and external partnerships by aligning them with brand building, professional development and community outreach goals. Her responsibilities also include managing Clean Harbors’ employee engagement surveys, where she helps turn feedback into action plans for the organization. Across each area, the objective is consistent: build a culture where people feel connected, valued and motivated to contribute.

That same lens carries into how she evaluates her WIT volunteer impact. By supporting content development and expert participation, Mangino helps elevate women’s voices and expand representation in industry conversations. Articles, interviews and expert commentary create visibility that can influence hiring, advancement and recognition. She also points to the importance of community interaction through member platforms, where women can ask questions, share experiences and find mentorship.

“Each effort, big or small, really helps amplify the message that women belong in trucking and deserve to be heard,” Mangino says. “It’s important that we share these milestones and celebrate each other.”

Several moments from her WIT journey stand out as especially meaningful. At the 2022 Accelerate! Conference & Expo, she attended the unveiling of the first female themed Clean Harbors truck wrap, which reinforced how visibility can influence perception and inspire participation. Another highlight has been nominating six women for the Top Women to Watch in Transportation award program and seeing each of them earn recognition.

“Watching my colleagues celebrated on a national stage for their hard work and positive influence in the industry remains one of the most rewarding parts of my involvement with Women in Trucking,” Mangino says.

She also values the long-term evolution of the partnership between Clean Harbors and WIT. Throughout the past six years, that collaboration has expanded in reach and impact, strengthening brand presence, increasing employee engagement and creating more pathways for women across the organization. Through that relationship, Mangino has built connections with women leaders throughout transportation whose experiences and perspectives continue to shape her outlook on the industry’s future.

Looking ahead, Mangino plans to deepen her volunteer involvement and expand the ways she contributes to WIT initiatives. She is particularly interested in continuing to support content strategy, engagement and community building efforts that keep members informed and connected. Strengthening visibility for women across all roles in trucking remains a priority, along with supporting recognition and access to resources that help women advance. With her continued hard work and dedication, Mangino is helping build a stronger and more inclusive future for women in trucking.
