As Expediter Services (ES) celebrates 20 years in the trucking industry, the company reflects on a legacy of growth, innovation, and purpose. From supporting independent contractors and owner-operators to becoming a leader in trucking capacity solutions and fleet development, ES has remained committed to one core mission: making trucking business ownership accessible to anyone willing to work for it.

This 20-year milestone highlights how ES has helped thousands of professional drivers build successful trucking businesses while promoting long-term career growth.

Empowering Owner-Operators: The Foundation of Expediter Services

Since its founding, Expediter Services has focused on helping people be successful by removing traditional barriers.

Instead of requiring significant upfront capital or prior business experience, ES provides flexible truck financing and equipment access, mentorship and business coaching, legal, accounting, and compliance support, as well as fuel, maintenance, and tire discount programs.

Central to this model is the company’s Never Stand-Alone philosophy, ensuring that no single owner operator or fleet owner must navigate the complexities of the industry without guidance.

Over the past two decades, this approach has enabled thousands of people to start and operate a safe, profitable trucking business.

Women-Owned Business Initiative: Expanding Opportunities in Trucking

A major milestone in ES’s journey came in 2017 with the launch of the 150 Business Challenge alongside the Women in Trucking Association (WIT), later renamed the Women-Owned Business Initiative after surpassing its goal of creating 150 women-owned trucking businesses in 2022.

Designed to support women looking to start or expand their own fleets, the program provides tailored resources, mentorship, and a clear pathway to ownership backed by ES’s platform of financing options, operational support, safety programs, and more.

Women represent nearly 40% of the ES community and the initiative is on track to exceed 400 women-owned trucking businesses, reflecting strong momentum and growing demand for entrepreneurial opportunities in the industry. Through its work with the Women In Trucking Association (WIT), ES has seen a growing number of women enter trucking later in their careers, drawn by the opportunity to build something of their own with greater independence, flexibility, and long-term financial potential, opportunities the ES model is designed to support.

Building a Stronger Trucking Community with Female Entrepreneurs

The success of the Women-Owned Business Initiative highlights the value of diversity in trucking. By focusing on work ethic, experience, and willingness to learn, rather than traditional barriers, ES has created a more inclusive and high-performing ecosystem.

Participants can enter the industry through rental opportunities and grow into fleet ownership with ES support. They can scale their operations using the company’s administrative, compliance, safety, legal, accounting, health and financing solutions.

“The success of our Women-Owned Business Initiative is a direct reflection of the talent, determination, and leadership that women bring to this industry,” said Jason Williams, President and CEO of ES. “Women in our programs have raised the bar across the board, in professionalism, safety, and business acumen. They’ve become a cornerstone of our success. We didn’t create this program to check a box, we built it because we saw an opportunity to remove barriers and unlock potential. The results have exceeded anything we imagined.”

Today, Expediter Services operates not just as a trucking solutions provider, but as a collaborative community where mentorship, partnership, and shared success drive long-term growth. The Never Stand-Alone philosophy is no longer just a guiding principle. It’s a lived reality for thousands of individuals building their futures within the ES community.

The Future of Expediter Services: Scaling Impact in Trucking

Looking ahead, ES is focused on scaling its impact while staying true to its core values. The next phase of growth will center on expanding access and enhancing support systems, particularly through the ongoing evolution of the Women-Owned Business Initiative.

As the industry continues to evolve, ES is positioning itself not just as a service provider, but as a catalyst for long-term success.

“There’s still more work to do,” Williams noted. “We’ve made significant progress, but our goal is to keep pushing forward. We want to create an environment where anyone with the drive to succeed has a real opportunity to do so. That was the vision that my father, Paul Williams, had and it is a legacy that we will continue to honor for the next 20 years, and beyond.”

This forward-looking approach also includes leveraging technology, strengthening partnerships, and adapting to the changing needs of modern fleet owners. But at its core, the mission remains unchanged: to empower individuals to build sustainable, safe, and profitable independent businesses in trucking.

20 Years of Trucking Success and the Road Ahead

Expediter Services’ 20-year success story is ultimately about the people it supports. By breaking down barriers and creating pathways to ownership, ES has helped redefine who can succeed in trucking.

For aspiring owner-operators, fleet owners, and especially women entering the industry, the message remains clear: you don’t have to build your trucking business alone.

With two decades of proven success and a continued focus on opportunity, Expediter Services is poised to shape the future of trucking for years to come.
